Independence is something which every person needs in his/her life. We cannot say that we are 100% independent. Every person needs the help of other at some or the other point of life.

“I never minded working hard, it’s who I’m working for.”

Being able to work for something and someone you believe in is Independence

According to me, Independence is choosing what you want to do on a daily basis. It means doing work that is fun, personally meaningful. The one in which you express your natural born talents and abilities and increase the skills to make them even better. It means wearing what you want because you feel good wearing it. It also means determining how you view life and the Universe. Independence also means eliminating the limiting beliefs that prevent you from living the life you choose and eliminating the habit of judging other’s lives and lifestyles. And, finally, independence is the freedom to live life based on the principles you determine and not the values an organization(philosophically or religiously) unless you feel they are a good fit.

Independence is when you are able to be you!!

Independence has a limit. Your independence cannot be in a way which is interfering the independence of others. Independence means the capability to choose who/what you worship, say thank you for and where you spend your time. In a larger sense, it means knowing how blessed we are and possessing the ability to help those not as fortunate.

Is India independent?

The answer is NO! It’s true that freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives to make India independent from the rule of Britishers. But, I say that India is independent, when every citizen is able to be independent. We can say that India is independent when:

· Our military people are able to sleep for a week without any tension.

· When all the women in the country are allowed to become self-dependent and follow their passions.

· When we start living the lives the way we want without worrying about what society thinks about us.

ACCEPT NO ONE’S DEFINITION OF YOUR LIFE. DEFINE YOURSELF!!

What does Independence mean to you?
